On September 10, 2020 our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend DOLORES OJEDA VASQUEZ left us to be with our Creator. She gained her wings after 77 years on this earth.   Dolores was born in Glendale, Arizona but was raised in Gilroy where she lived until her passing.  Dolores worked for Gilroy FoodS for over 30 years from where she retired in 2008.  Dolores leaves behind  her three sons Frank Vasquez Jr.[Linda], son Mike Vasquez [Blanca],son Eddie Vasquez, daughters Lilian Vasquez-Armenta and Margaret Vasquez-Gonzalez, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, grandson Elijah Vasquez who she helped raise, her brother Willy Ojeda and sisters Becky Vasquez and Andrea Burhumen.  She is now in heaven with her parents, Jose Maria and Francisca Ojeda.

Dolores loved going to church at San Juan Mission.

Dolores was an active member of the Mt View Club Estrella, Las Rositas Senior Club of Gilroy, and visited the Gilroy Senior Center frequently.   She was actively involved with the non-profit  Community Agency for Resources Advocacy [CARAS], and participated in many marches and protests for Justice.

Dolores loved dancing and wherever she went if there was music she'd get up and do that Cha Cha, Cha.   She loved to sing Karaoke at Old Gilroy City Hall where and her comadres were known as the "Old Gilroy Golden Girls" by their friends.  She loved dressing in her traditional Mexican dresses and also loved to dress in the old 50's & 60's Rock N Roll style   Dolores was truly a fun and happy  person.

A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020 from 3 to 8:pm.  Anyone planning to attend must follow County of Santa Clara COVID-19 instructions {see face book]
