We celebrate the life of William Henry Townsend. Willie was born in San Blas, Sinaloa, Mexico on July 20th, 1935. Where he lived on his parent's ranch, they moved to Tucson, AZ when he was 15 years old to be closer to his paternal Grandparents. Willie had set his sights on Golden California. The whole family followed in on his decision to move from Arizona. They settled into San Jose in 1952. He would faithfully contribute to the family by working numerous types of jobs. Willie met the love of his life Beatrice at a local dance hall. They were married a year later. His ambition to provide for his family drove him to be a steady carpenter with the local 405 union. He worked 30 years until he retired at the age of 54.
Willie and Bea had five children, eleven grandchildren, and three great granddaughters. They built 4 of their homes together as a family.
He had a love of sports. He played baseball & softball for numerous years, and then moved on to golf. He would go to tournaments up & down the coast. He was also a great fan of baseball. He enjoyed watching his favorite local teams like the Giants win the World Series this year and also the 49ers.
Willie was preceded in death by his parents William Henry & Guadalupe Townsend. His brother Jessie Townsend & Grandson David Anthony Townsend.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years of marriage to Beatrice Torres Townsend, Father to Bill (Debbie) Townsend, Dan (Kathy) Townsend, Ted (Rebecca) Townsend , Abby Townsend and Monique (Mark) Smith. Grandfather to William, Marissa, Demetri, Dominic (Shirley), Jamielee (Luke), Edmund, Rachel, Stephen, Morgan, and Alexandra. Great Grandfather of Chloe, Kaitlyn, & Dakota. He is also survived by his Sister Mary Fritch and Brothers Vic, Luke, Jake, & Gene. Adored and loved by numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First Street, Gilroy.
