WILLIAM "Bill" BLAKE, 82, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010 suddenly in Gilroy. Preceded in death by his parents, James & Adelaide Blake, his brothers Joe & Norman "Casey" Blake and his former wife, Joyce McCandless. Survived by his sister Bette Scarper (Lee) of Gilroy, Mary Jane Green of Gilroy; sister-in-law of Deloris Blake; nieces Sister Bobbi Green, Nancy Scarper, Kelly Blake, Tamara Blake, Jeannette Erb, Karen Blake, Catherine Lewis and the late Patricia Blomgren; Nephews Jim Blake, Jim Scarper & Steve Scarper. Step-father of Kirk, Mark & Scott McCandless. Also survived by grand nieces, grandnephews and step-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Gilroy. Graduated from Gilroy High School in the 40's. Army Veteran of World War II. Worked as a butcher for Nob Hill Foods for 32 years. Member of St. Mary's Church, Life-member and past commander of Post 669, Life-member of the VFW, Gilroy Elks and the SIRS.

Funeral Mass Monday, October 25, 2010 – 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Gilroy.
