William F. Zeigler passed away unexpectedly, with his canine companion, Sasha, due to a tragic automobile accident. He was 54 years old.
Bill was born in San Jose, California on July 14, 1960. While growing up, he lived in San Jose and Las Vegas, Nevada. Upon graduating high school, he moved back to San Jose where he met and married the love of his life Silvia Schlick in 1985. He established a successful career as a telecommunications engineer with Northern Telecom in Santa Clara. In 1988, at the young age of 28, he and his wife Silvia opened their first business in Gilroy – The Pet Stop. The business was opened out of Bill's interest and love for animals and he took a great deal of pride in their family operated store. 27 years later, The Pet Stop continues to serve the Gilroy community. When not working at the store, Bill enjoyed being a part of fresh water bass fishing tournaments with his friends. He had a way of bringing humor into everyday life by pointing out funny things that one might not notice right away, and he had an unmistakable jovial laugh. He also enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends on holidays. He had a talent for making each holiday special and memorable. Future holidays won't be the same without Bill's special touch. He will be dearly missed.
Bill is survived by his wife of 29 years, Silvia Zeigler; and their two daughters Sarah Anne Zeigler and Rebecca Marie Zeigler. He is also survived by his 4 sisters, Cynthia Roeder, Diana Huff, Naomi Welch, Kimberlee Zeigler, and their families. He is preceded in death by his father Floyd W. Zeigler and his mother Charlotte L. (Bainbridge) Zeigler.
Funeral Services will be held for Bill on Saturday, April 4, 2015 11:00 A.M. at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, Gilroy.
