Warren Dellos Gwinn of San Martin, CA. passed away July 7th of natural causes. He passed away peacefully at home. Warren was born on March 14, 1932 in Gilroy to Ruby and Marion Raymond Gwinn of San Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Warren was a life-long resident of San Martin and was a custom cabinet maker for over 50 years. He grew up on the Gwinn Ranch and worked with family raising prunes. He attended San Martin School and Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill. Warren and Ethel were high school sweethearts. They were married in Reno, Nevada in 1952. Their marriage lasted 65 years.
Warren was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife Ethel Gwinn, his children, Marla Esperanca, Vance Gwinn (Norma), Lana Wright (Doug), and Craig Gwinn (Kathleen), his nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by his three siblings Bud Gwinn, Nancy Kludt, and Richard Gwinn.
Warren had numerous friends and was loved by all who knew him. His sense of humor and charm always had people smiling. Warren was devoted to his family. He was always willing to help anyone with anything at the drop of a hat.
Warren was a lifelong athlete. He played baseball and softball from his youth until he was in his seventies. He was a standout player in high school baseball and basketball. He enjoyed playing golf with his family and friends. He was also a Yell Leader at Live Oak High School. Warren and Ethel enjoyed many years dancing with the Morgan Hill Hillbillies Square Dancers and The Happy Hearts Round Dance Team.
Warren was a member of the San Martin Lions Club for twenty years. He served in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Graveside Services 10:00 am Friday, August 4, 2017 at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First Street, Gilroy. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am Sunday, August 6, 2017 at San Martin Lions Club, 12415 Murphy Ave, San Martin.
