Survived by her mother Maria Angela Caballero who was the Sophia to her Dorothy. Her sisters Sylvia Mendoza, Rosalinda Mellor, and brother Raul Caballero. Her nieces Amorette Mendoza, Priscilla Deleon, Angelic Barrera, Amanda Mendoza, and nephews Moises Caballero and Eric Mendoza. Followed by many grandnieces and nephews and one great grandniece. Preceded in death by her father Roman Caballero, and her favorite brother-in-law Anthony Mendoza. She worked her entire life in the non-profit sector with children, abused women, and troubled youth. Vicki worked tirelessly as a union steward. She had one year as an elementary teacher at San Ysidro School in Gilroy. Vicki was also a foster mom for many years, who loved the Phantom of the Opera, Calvin and Hobbs, and Beauty and the Beast. She would often drag her poor niece Amorette to Neil Diamond and Gary Puckett concerts where she would dance away, although she couldn't dance. Vicki and her niece Amorette attended several Bette Midler concerts and always spoke of the fun they had together. Road trips to Ashland Oregon as she argued with her sister Rosie that she would not sit through a Shakespeare play so they agreed on Cyrano the Bergerac. Vicki always said that her "other mom" her sister Sylvia was always the "hero beneath her wings". She will be greatly missed by all her animals, and all those who loved her will never forget her.
