Virginia was born in Phoenix Arizona to Salvador Sanchez and Gomercinda Moreno. She was one of six children who were raised in her home state. She attended local schools in Phoenix and in her youth she was active in St. Anthony's Parish of Phoenix, where she taught Catechism. She married and moved to Indiana where she began her family. She moved back to Arizona but eventually moved to California and called it home.
She was a Strong single Mom who not only raised her 5 children, one of them being a special needs child, she also raised 3 of her grandchildren and one of her great-grandchildren. She was a hard worker who worked at Saps Donuts (later known as Dolly Madison) and in the garlic industry for Don Christopher for 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, her daughters Annette and Sandy Giles, and son Joe Chapa. She is survived by her sons Bobby, Donald, and Jesse Giles. Her life partner George Resendiz. Grandchildren Larry, Kevin, Amanda, Lisa, Samantha, Krystal, and Derry Anna Giles, Joe, Brianna, and Bernandette Chapa. Great grandchildren Kayla, Priscilla, and Emily Giles. Daughter in law Elsa Chapa and son in law David Terry Giles, brother Ray Villegas and her 4 legged furry family Holly and Oreo. All who knew and loved her will greatly miss her,
Services will be held Thursday, March 31st at St. Mary's Church. Viewing will begin at 9:00am and Mass at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park. A gathering will be held after services at Virginia's home.
