In loving Memory of Vid --

Vid Bhakar, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, son-in-law and cousin, passed away from a stroke on July 30, 2021 at the age of 52. Vid was born on September 15th, 1968 in Brighton, Sussex, England to Carole and Balram Bhakar.

Vid was a patent attorney and partner at Squire, Patton and Boggs, in the Silicon Valley. He was known for his extensive experience and counseling in infringement litigation of computer-related technologies and for his care and mentoring of colleagues.

He was an exceptionally intelligent, funny and generous man. He was an avid reader (developed during his childhood time in Italy). He was admired for his thirst for knowledge and ability to contribute meaningfully to any topic. He shared his wonder and dared us to understand. He reminded us to laugh, stay calm, and keep fighting.

Vid grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, graduating from Vincent Massey Collegiate High School in 1986. He completed his B.S. in Entomology at the University of Minnesota with a minor in history in 1990, and gained his J.D. from William Mitchell Law School in St Paul in 1994. He lived in San Jose, California with his wife, Michell, since 1999.

He was most passionate about the history of warfare, politics, humor, adventure, food, cooking, animals, and connecting with people. He loved to entertain and brought us so much joy. He was generous to us, and cared for us and helped many others in their times of need.

Vid is survived by his wife, Michell Philips, his parents, Carole and Bal Bhakar, his sister Asha Bhakar and her husband and two sons, father-in-law Clinton Philips, sister-in-law Daleen Foster and her husband Mark and their grown children Talor Foster and Garat Foster, along with many dear cousins in Texas and India.
