Vella Faustene Rowland Maddix (90) passed away March 11, 2024. Vella was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on August 4, 1933.  She was the second child born to Perry Thomas Rowland and Velma Lea Price Rowland.

Vella loved her family and friends and spending time with them. She loved cultural events, birthday parties, plays, attending grand and great grand children's events. She was the dishwashing queen. Always helped at birthday parties and family meals by heading to the kitchen to do the dishes.

Vella was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Otis Maddix, her parents, brother Harvey Eugene Rowland and sister Nadene Dula. Vella is survived by her children Ron (Darcy) Braughton and Sandy (Don) Draman, her 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

There will be a private family burial. A Celebration of Life will be March 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Atwater Baptist Church, 2124 First Street, Atwater, CA.
