Thomas Anthony Lewis, Jr. passed away peacefully on August 12, 2017 in Gilroy.

He is survived in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Joanie; their two sons Rick (Loreal) and Randy (Annette).  He leaves behind his grandchildren Jonathon, Brianna, Anthony and Jacob, as well as many nieces and cousins.

Tom was born October 6, 1946 in Hanford, CA to Thomas and Josephine Lewis. He came to Gilroy as an infant and attended local schools graduating from Gavilan College. Tom was stationed in Vietnam as an Army medic and continued his involvement recently with the Patriot Guard Riders.  After returning home from Vietnam, Tom worked for a number of local companies as a mechanical engineer. Tom kept busy volunteering for 4-H, Gilroy Little League and was a docent at Bonfante Gardens. He relished his role as a grandfather, loved spending time with them, teaching them all to swim and was a great tutor for their schoolwork. After retirement, Tom could either be found fishing on the river, woodworking and welding in his shop or polishing his Harley.

Visitation Monday, August 21, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy.

Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Burial will take place Wednesday, August, 23, 2017 – 2:00 PM at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, Santa Nella
