Thomas Furtado, 59, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Kaiser Hospital on August 21, 2010. Thomas was born on May 27, 1951 to Anthony and Norma Furtado. He lived on the family ranch in Gilroy. Thomas had one brother, Richard (Carol). Thomas had one nephew, Richard Furtado and one niece, Amber Furtado. Both Norma (February 13, 1980) and Anthony (June 28, 2010) preceded Thomas in death. Thomas is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tom worked in the water testing lab for both Fairchild and IBM before his Multiple Sclerosis and Diabetes caused him to go on disability. He had a passion for hunting and firearms which lead into a small gun business that he ran out of his home.
Services were conducted by Habing Family Funeral Home. The family is having a memorial celebration in his honor at their home on Roop Road on Sept. 18th from 12 Noon to 5 PM. Feel free to stop by and share your memories of Tom.
