He shared many precious friends and he was an enthusiastic member of "The Tennis Group" (a Wednesday eve for 30 plus years with great friends). Of late he often said that his best friends were bartenders and doctors. A shout out to the friends he made at Sinaloa, WSG, and Mama Mia's. Always quick with a joke or witty commentary, he was a good man.
He graduated from University of Buffalo in 1965 and with his new wife Linda, drove to California in a covered wagon (a Chevy). He started his career as an insurance agent and eventually moved to Gilroy where he became an insurance broker in his own business, Voorhies, Parrish and Hussar. Over the years he insured many business associates who became lifelong friends. He retired after many years and loved spending time in Lake Tahoe and Kauai. He was a poet and avid reader who loved Robert Service. He could recite his special poems from memory. He loved his life in Gilroy and always felt lucky to have an abundant life. He loved music, people, good food and fine wine. He loved to dance. He asked to leave with these words….To be continued…..
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life at Mama Mia's in Gilroy on November 30th from 2-4 PM.
