IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stefanos
Daskalakis
March 19, 1953 – March 6, 2019
Stefanos Daskalakis, of San Juan Bautista, CA, died unexpectedly 6 March 2019 at the age of 65. His passing has left a huge whole in the hearts of those who loved him. His interests were many and complaints few. He lived life with passion as few do. Adventurous, artistic, athletic, generous and fun-loving. An athlete, an artist, a word worker, and handy man "extraordinaire". But nothing pleased him more than sharing a home cooked meal, a bottle of wine and lively conversation with friends and relatives. He was a true, caring friend to many and a "big brother" to his nephew, Dimitri. His life had many struggles which he fearlessly bore, never forgetting to tell the people he loved that he cared.
Stefanos was born in Doxaton, Greece to Alexandros and Eleftheria Daskalakis in 1953. He studied Pharmacy at the University of Bologne, Italy for his undergraduate degree and later Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Bonn, Germany for his Doctorate. He worked for many years in Pharmaceutical Research for his career.
He is survived by his brother, Diogenes Daskalakis (Wife Dimitra) and his nephew, Alexandros and niece Eleftheria; and by his sister, Anastasia Psarros (Husband George), and his nephew Dimitri and niece Evangelia.
His death has left his wife of 38 years, Christine Daskalakis, heartbroken, as she struggles to find a way forward. She will be forever grateful for the life they had together and that she was blessed to find such an exceptional man. The love they shared was marked by its tenderness, emotion and endurance, even in the most difficult of times.
There will be a closed, private service locally. An event celebrating Stefanos' life will take place in Greece.
