Socorro Valdez Alfaro born July 1 1950 succumbed peacefully on December 31, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Jose Luis Alfaro and mother to Theresita and son-in -law Daniel Gray, and her late beloved son Jose Luis Alfaro Jr. She was the daughter of the late Trinidad and Theresa Valdez. Siblings Rosie, Trinidad, Tina, Bertha, Mary, Vincent, Christine, Andres, Bobby, Elsie and the late Gabriel Valdez. Also survived by her sisters in law and brothers in law and many nieces and nephews. A 35 year employee of Santa Clara County Gilroy Public Library and recently retired. She served as a steward and trustee of the local Santa Clara County SEIU/local Union.

Funeral Services will start at 11 am, Friday, January 9, 2015 at South Valley Community Church 8095 Kelton Drive, Gilroy. Viewing will begin at 10am. Services will start at 11am and burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
