The stars are shining less brightly with the passing of Sheila Still, whose infectious laugh, generous heart and warm smile lit up the world around her. Sheila left this earth on January 10th at the age of 78, after a 20-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

Sheila had a passion for the visual and performing arts. A graduate of New York's High School of Music and Art, Sheila had a beautiful singing voice that would fill her home, day and night, with Broadway show tunes, never missing a lyric. In the car it was rounds with harmonies, and songs made up about anything that popped into her head, from baked beans to shoe laces. Sheila also possessed an artistic eye, with the vision to transform the most unremarkable of spaces into spectacular living environments and made every house she lived in a home to be envied.

After marrying the love of her life, Eric Still, in 1969, the two began an antique importing business that quickly grew to include contemporary furnishings and interior design services. Together they successfully built their business, traveled the world, raised a daughter who adored them both to the moon and back, and collected the myriad wonderful friendships that would so richly enhance their lives.

Sheila was absolutely devoted to her family and friends. She will be missed each and every day, both for who she was and who she inspired others to be. Sheila is survived by her daughter, with whom she shared a fierce bond, and by her two grandsons who brought her great joy and of whom she could not have been more proud. She leaves behind her mother, her loving brother, and her niece and nephew, whom she loved as if they were her own.

A celebration of Sheila's life will be planned for her family and friends.
