IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sarah
Aceves
October 29, 1928 – September 19, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sarah Aceves, who left us on September 19, 2024 following complications after taking a fall at home.
Born 95 years ago in Gilroy where she spent her entire life, she married Lupe Aceves, her high school sweetheart, in 1949. Sarah had a passion for gardening, reading, word puzzles and ice cream. Fiercely independent with a stubborn streak, Sarah was a homemaker who volunteered for stuffing envelopes at her church, spent time as a "lunch lady" for the Gilroy school district, enjoyed weekly Mass and coffee with the Church Ladies and thrived in her grandmother duties to Michael, Ellen and Claire. Her legacy of love to family and lifetime friend Eva will inspire all who knew her.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Lupe Aceves, daughter Louisa Broudy and siblings Dolores Reynoso, Anna Cortes, Mary Cardenas, Serafin Ordaz and twin brothers Daniel and Samuel Ordaz,
She is survived by her family Lorraine (Dan) Carey, Sylvia (Steve) Augusto, Steve Broudy, grandchildren Michael Broudy, Ellen Broudy (Kyle) Pedigo, Claire Augusto, great grandson Owen Pedigo, her sister Margaret Herrera and many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a Blessing of Ashes ceremony on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 12:30pm at Habing Family Funeral Home.
A celebration of Sarah's life will follow at Mama Mia's Restaurant, 275 E Dunne Ave, Morgan Hill CA.
