Obituary

Sandy went to be with the Lord on Tuesday the 13th of October 2020, while she was surrounded by her loving family. She came into this world on April 30th 1971 in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent her early childhood there before calling Gilroy her home.  She and her Grandmother Gomercinda  were especially close. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her, such as being sung to, talked to in Spanish, having special meals and drinking coffee together.

She is survived by her devoted parents, Mother Virginia Sanchez, Step-Father George Resendiz, and her loving siblings; sister Annette Giles, brothers Bobby (David), Donald, and Jesse Giles and Joe (Elsa) Chapa. She was a "Special" Aunt to many nephews and nieces. Sandy had a special place in her heart for babies. She always looked forward to holding each one when they came to visit. Sandy also had a special 4 legged friend Holly who was her constant companion. They spent their time hanging out together and going for  rides to 7-11 for a Big Gulp and feeling the wind in their hair and fur. They were always looking out for one another.

Sandy enjoyed her years at Gateway School. She loved traveling to see family in Arizona, and especially her trip to Hawaii, Sandy was a simple girl who enjoyed the little things in life that brought joy to her; dying Easter eggs with her brothers Donald and Jesse, listening to her classic country music in her room, and having an ice cold diet coke in her hand. Sandy loved when her brother Bobby visited and would stay up with her watching TV and then would  make her breakfast in morning. Over the holiday season she also enjoyed visits from Annette and Joe and their families, being with family made her happy!

She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. We would like to thank the staff at St. Louise Hospital who have cared for her during her hospital stays. We also appreciate those who have supported the family during this difficult time...Fabiola Mateos, Gracie Gonzalez, and Jennifer Ortiz and Family. Services will be held at Gavilan Hills Cemetery. A viewing and service will be held at the chapel/mausoleum on site, followed by a grave site farewell. Please call the family for day and time. We will miss you and always love you Sandy...Until we meet again.
