Ruth M. Habing, 81, passed away at her home in Gilroy on Monday, May 21, 2012. Wife of Bernard Habing of Gilroy. Mother of Kathleen Anderson (Howard) of Glendale, CA, William Habing (Gloria) of Gilroy, Susan Ferreira (Manny) of Gilroy, Cynthia Layton (Dick) of Walton, NY, James Habing (Andrea) of Gilroy and Stephen Habing (Dianne) of Gilroy; Grandmother of Tim & Casey Anderson, Mike, Sheila, Ben & Don Habing, Danny Furtado, Katie Wurzel, Amy Neal, Cindy Sweigart, Manny Ferreira MD and Denise Ferreira, Tori Anderson, Alyssa & Andrew Habing and Jason & Dylan Habing; Great-Grandmother of Ashley Habing, Dakota, Alexis & Chase Morgan, Kaitlin Habing, Mason, Grady & Delaney Furtado, Maggie & Ellie Wurzel, Grace Neal, Ava & Alena Ferreira and Emily Anderson. A native of San Francisco, CA.

Ruth moved to Gilroy at the age of 14 and has been a resident ever since. She owned and operated Habing Family Funeral Home with her husband from the 1950's to the 1990's.

Vigil will be Thursday, May 24, 2012 - 7:00 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home with Visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.

Funeral Mass Friday, May 25,2012 -10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, 11 First Street, Gilroy.

Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First Street, Gilroy followed by a reception.

The family would like to thank her caregivers from Visiting Angels of Gilroy and the Odyssey Hospice.
