Rudy Siderits passed away peacefully on Sunday September 21, 2014, he was 84 years old.

He is survived by his beloved wife Maxine of 59 years; his sisters Francis Barker & Mary Musso; his beloved son Mark Siderits (Jody); his beloved daughter Marlo Cappeto (Chris); Grandchildren: Mandy Ryan (Patrick); Michelle Decker (Darrol), Nicole Forrest (Shaun) & Anthony Cappeto. Great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Kassie, Molly & Kellan Ryan; Darrol & Jason Decker; Summer & Cole Forrest.

Rudy was born June 19th, 1930 in Bronx New York and moved to Gilroy, CA in 1947. Shortly after Rudy & his family permanently moved to San Martin, CA where he lived for the past 67 years. He attended Gilroy High School and was a member of the class of 1949. In the early 1950's he worked for Standard Stations in Gilroy, Ca. It was within that time he met the love of his life, Maxine. They married in 1954. He also worked at the San Martin Winery where he retired after 25 years in 1989.

Rudy was a fan of great cars and was meticulous in maintaining his own cars in showroom condition. One of Rudy's favorite cars was a vintage Hudson that he and Maxine owned shortly after they married. He spent many years devoted to his weekly bowling league at the Gilroy Bowl and his weekend visits to the Morgan Hill Flea Market where he was always looking for a good deal. Rudy was an avid baseball fan and though he lived in California he was always loyal and true to his home town team, The New York Yankees.


Services will be held on Saturday September 27, 2014 at 2:00 at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy. A celebration of life will take place at the Siderits residence in San Martin at 4:00.
