IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosa L.
Ortega
September 7, 1936 – October 30, 2020
Rosa L Ortega was called to be with the Lord on October 30, 2020. She was survived by her four daughters Irene, Martha Stella, and Ruth all from Gilroy. She leaves behind ten grandchildren; Armando ,Frances, Delfina, Rosemarie, Chico, Ralphy, Marcella, Vincent, Savhana, and Melody. Eleven great grandchildren. Her Brothers and sisters included Frank, Raymond, Chello, Gloria, and Petra; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Her husband Enrique Ortega, her parents Cuca and Frank Lopez, her brothers and sister Nick, Raul, Jesse, and Jose, Delores; her beloved Tia Carmen. Rosa will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a dear friend to many.
She lived all her life in Gilroy where she worked since she was a young girl with her parents and family. Until she retired at the Gilroy Cannery Company she always was a hard worker and provided for her family. In her personal life, she loved visiting family with her husband on road trips and spending time with loved ones while laughing and catching up. She enjoyed listening to music and always played it while cleaning the house. She would tell stories how she would go dancing with her sisters at the Portuguese Hall and all the good times she had in her youth.
Rosa was an active member of Templo Bethel. She had been an active church member for over 20 years where she worked at "actividades", travelled for out of town services, but her favorite was seeing her grandkids come for the annual Christmas Services and plays. She loved the Lord. Rosa will be greatly missed but for those she leaves behind we know she is free of pain and is singing glory to the Lord with her sister Delores and Tia carmen. We must have faith and hope that God is real and that God loves us all and that one day in God's love we will be with Rosa Ortega one more time in Heaven.
