Long-time Gilroy resident passed away peacefully after a couple of years of failing health, surrounded by her family.

Born in El Paso, Texas to Tiburcio and Maria de la Luz Garcia (both deceased).  Her large family included 10 brothers and sisters who she loved dearly:  Evangelina (deceased), Genoveva (deceased), Gloria (deceased), Gilberto (deceased), Elfida (deceased), Esperanza (deceased), Maria Elena (deceased), Raul (deceased).  Surviving siblings:  Francisco and Hortencia.

Survived by her five children:  Irma Rosa, Manuel Antonio, Patricia, Susana and Daniel.  Her youngest, Javier, passed on February 7, 2001.  Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.  Mom also left behind numerous nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her immensely.

Family would to extend their heartfelt thank you to the staff at St. Louise Regional Hospital and Gilroy Healthcare for their unwavering care and support of our Mom.  She left this world knowing that she was loved dearly.  She will be missed very much.

Memorial and interment will be held a later date.
