Obituary

Ronald (Ronnie) Silva of Jamestown, CA passed away on June 27, 2017. He died peacefully at his home in Jamestown. He had been battling disabilities and health issues. Ron passed away at the age of 69.

Ronnie was born in Gilroy, CA on July 25, 1946 to the parents of Albert Silva and Marie Duarte. Ronnie's parents both preceded him in death. Ronnie lived most of his life in Gilroy before moving to Jamestown in 2004.

Ronnie lived on a dairy in Gilroy that was operated by his Grandparents Frank and Francis Silva. His uncles Frank and Author Silva also lived on the dairy at one time. His aunt Marguerite Gomes and Jeanette Silva also lived there. His father Albert sold the dairy and Ronnie and his mother Marie moved to Jamestown to retire.

Ronnie worked for South Valley Disposal for over 30 years before retiring. Ronnie was a truck driver for the company. He was a member of the Teamsters union.

Ronnie loved cars and motorcycles. He was a very good mechanic and built many cars and bikes in his lifetime. Ronnie loved to build fast and loud cars and that was his passion. He loved to modify cars and bikes.

He also rode motorcycles with friends from several clubs. He had quite a collection of Harley Davidson's over his lifetime, including custom choppers and three wheelers.

Ronnie won several trophies for show cars and racing.

He also had a limousine that he used as a transportation service for weddings and proms and so forth. He of course was the chauffeur.

Ron enjoyed gambling so he loved going to the casinos in the state as well as Reno and Las Vegas Nevada.

Ronnie loved his music and movies. He had a large collection of both and lots of stereos in his house and vehicles to enjoy them. Ron liked his music loud just like his cars.

Ronnie is survived by his loving cousin Robert Gomes of Gilroy. He is also survived by his cousin Gary Moore of Turlock and his Cousin Author John Silva of Oklahoma. Ron also leaves lifelong family friends Gary and Juanita Nilmeyer of San Martin. He was also very close to the family caregiver and friend Debbie Sprague of Jamestown.

A Service and Interment will be held at Gavilan Hills Cemetery.  The service will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11:30 am. The cemetery is located at 1000 First Street in Gilroy, CA 95020.
