RONALD HIGGINS, passed away from this Holy World and descended
into heaven on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the age of 80; joining his beloved daughter
Casi Ann Riley, and his parents Ruby and Tom Higgins. He was born in Porterville
and moved to Sunnyvale, California when he was two, where he lived until he
married Carol Machado Higgins in August of 1960. They were married 58 years
and had two children. He is survived by his wife Carol Higgins, son Scott
Higgins and daughter-in-law Jill Higgins. Along with his grandchildren Austin
(Crystal) Riley, Lilly Higgins, Alexis Higgins, and his great-grandson Kilo Riley.
Brother of Donald (Dorothy) Higgins of Sunnyvale and Robert (Janet) Higgins of
Los Gatos. He also leaves behind many nieces, one nephew, godchildren, and many
cousins.

Ron was a retired mechanical engineer and a pioneer in hard drive manufacturing in
the Silicon Valley.  He worked at Lockheed Martin, IBM, and Memorex. He was
also an entrepreneur who founded many startups in the early days of Silicon Valley,
such as Amlyn, Dysan and Access Devices. He loved antiques, not only
purchasing them, but refurbishing them. When his children were at a young age he
introduced them to hunting, snow skiing, boating, diving and other outdoor
recreations. With his family being the most important part of his life, he made
lasting relationships with people, that became their closest friends, whom they
cherish to this day.

Services to be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019, 10:30 am at St. Mary's Church,
11 First Street, Gilroy, CA 95020.
