Ron, son of Virginia and Louis, was born and raised in Gilroy, CA. Ron enlisted and served a tour of duty in Vietnam with the Army where he served his country as a diesel mechanic. Following his discharge, Ron began a series of successful contracting businesses through which he built many of the homes and commercial buildings in Gilroy and the surrounding area during the 1970's, 80's, and early 90's.
Ron is survived by his son Daniel (wife Lisa, sons Mason and Grady, daughter Delaney), his daughters Katie Wurzel (husband Seth, daughters Maggie and Ellie), Amy Neal (husband Jeff, daughters Grace and Olivia), and Cindy Sweigart (husband Troy, daughter Adelena, and son on the way). Ron is also survived by his brother Kenny (Jill), and his longtime friend Donna Togni. He was preceeded in death by his sister Bobbi Furtado.
Ron was an exceptionally hard worker and was a master at his craft of carpentry. In his early years, he was an avid motorcyclist, fisherman, and camper. Ron was always a good friend, hard worker, straight talker, and a genuinely nice guy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 2:00 P.M. at Habing Family Funeral Home.
