Roger G. Castaneda, 61 of Gilroy passed away Monday, March 30, 2015. Brother of Tom (Adela) Garcia of Newark, CA, Manuel Castaneda of Atascosa, TX, Frank (Lupe) Castaneda of Gilroy, Pete (Frances) Castaneda of Morgan Hill, Jim (Mary Lou) Castaneda of Los Banos, Marcos Castaneda of Los Banos, Margaret (Robert) Lucio of Los Banos, Eleanor (Robert) Alonzo, of Royal Oaks, CA, Victor (Ana) Castaneda of Merced, Raul (Peggy) Castaneda of Los Banos and Ernest Castaneda of Los Banos. Also survived by 38 Nieces and Nephews, 50 Great Nieces and Nephews and 13 Great-Great Nieces and Nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano and Cruz Castaneda and Nephew Andrew Garcia.

Roger was a Chico State Alumni. He enjoyed playing softball, watching Gilroy High School wrestling, enjoyed jogging, bicycling, Bay Area sports fan and member of the National Rifle Association. Roger valued spending time with his family and friends.

Visitation will be at Habing Family Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from 1 – 5 PM. Vigil will be 7:00 PM at St. Mary Church, Gilroy.

Funeral Mass Friday, April 10, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church. Family would appreciate donations to the Gilroy High School Wrestling Team c/o Habing Family Funeral Home.
