IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rodrigo P.
Milan
May 21, 1947 – November 6, 2020
With a heavy heart, the family of Rodrigo Padilla Milan wish to inform his dearest friends that he unexpectedly went back to his Maker on November 6, 2020. He was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung and liver cancers. Rodrigo was preceded in death by his wife, Marita Milan in 2007 and his eldest daughter, Vivian Milan-Ramirez, in 2013. He is survived by his daughters, Mylene Pizarro and Kristel Milan. He also left behind his wonderful grandchildren, Lukas and Krysten, who were present at the time of his passing, his son-in-law, Kenneth, his mother-in-law, Guadalupe, and his brother-in-law, Renato, and his family.
Rodrigo was born in a little town called Rosario on the island of Luzon, Philippines. Orphaned at an early age, he and his brother were raised by their grandparents, uncles and aunts and had only known simplicity all his life. He used to be a soldier in the Philippines before he was married. After falling in love and marrying Marita, he shifted gears and worked as a highway patrol officer until his retirement. After the demise of his wife and eldest daughter, he decided to help his daughter, Mylene, raise his grandchildren and came to California where he stayed for the last 5 years of his life. Unfortunately, he fell ill in the last two months leading to a terminal diagnosis.
Rodrigo was known to have a deep sense of humor, to be very extremely sociable and to love long walks. He enjoyed gardening, visiting farms, shopping for fancy clothes and shoes that he did not plan on wearing and going to restaurants with his close friends. He will be missed both here in Gilroy and in the Philippines.
