Rodolfo "Rudy" Alfaro

Apr 21, 1944 — Sep 28, 2026

Gilroy, CA

Our beloved Rodolfo-Rudy Alfaro joined the Heavenly Angels on September 28, 2026. He was known as, ‘the warmest, kind-hearted gentleman,’ with the most-sincere smile for everyone. On this day, he reunited with his son David Alfaro, who preceded him March 11, 1993.

Everyone knew him as Rudy.

An honorable man, with a dream…~

Rudy was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on April 21,1944 to Julia and Feliciano Alfaro. They migrated to Gilroy, Ca. and he graduated from Las Animas High School in 1962 of Gilroy.

He was drafted during the time he was enlisting into the Air Force and worked as a Postal Clerk-Specialist. Sergeant Alfaro (E-5) served an honorable term from 1965-1969 during the Vietnam War.

In March of 1968, he married his forever love, Armida and together they raised two children, Madeline and David.

Rudy worked for Gilroy Foods for 50 years while his wife worked for Gilroy Cannery, raising their family. Gilroy was blooming with blue collar workers in all trades surrounded by vineyards & farm land. It held a piece of the American dream for many.

He loved to grill outdoors with a beer in hand laughing with friends and family, cheering on his ‘San Francisco 49er’ team running the field, to make another field goal and spending the evenings winding down with a book on history.

He lived simply, humble, loved deep and cared about those who touched his life.

Rudy is survived by his loving wife Armida, his daughter Madeline and son n’ law Eric Wischmann, Felix and Oscar Alfaro, Raymond and Val Barrientos, grandsons - Jacob and Jared Wischmann, and great-grandson Carson Daniel Wischmann

Forever within our hearts, we love you~
