Naval Seaman, FT2 – Rodney Lee Cordell, 75, died peacefully on March 20, 2018, in Gilroy, CA.  A veteran of the Navy, he served aboard the destroyer, Myles C. Fox during the Cold War from 1960 – 1963.  After working at Pacific Bell Telephone Co., he worked and eventually retired from IBM after 35 years.

Rod was born October 7, 1942 in Anthony, KS to Erbie and Ione Cordell.  He follows his late wife, Virginia Raquet-Cordell.  He is survived by his sons, Richard, Randy, and Scott; his grand-children, Anne, Claire, and Emily; his step-children, Dennis, Linda, John, Michele, and Alicia; his step-grand-children, Rich, Gabriel, Nick, and Anastasia; his daughter-in-laws, Lynda and Thanh.

There will not be a funeral service as his wishes were to be cremated and his ashes will be brought aboard a Navy ship and he will be buried at sea.  Please contact Scott Cordell for additional information: scottcordell@hotmail.com .
