Roberto "Bob" Ortega went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness, on January 31, 2012, at the age of 72. He was the beloved husband of Nellie Robinson-Ortega, loving father of Lupe Vasquez and stepchildren Lisa Chavez Nino, Jess Perez, Michael Chavez and many loving grandchildren. Survived by brothers Primitivo Ortega, Armando Ortega and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his sisters Luz Villasana and Rosario Ortega. He will be missed by all and forever in our hearts

A celebration of life will be held Monday, February 6, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Habing Family Funeral Home, 129 4th Street, Gilroy.

Funeral services on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 10:00 am, followed by graveside services at San Juan District Cemetery, San Juan Bautista, California.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a charitable donation be made in his memory to the Jubliee South Valley Church Building Fund in care of Habing Family Funeral Home.
