Obituary

Robert went home and entered the gates of heaven to be with the Lord above on July 27, 2019. Born on February 15, 1935 in Crystal City, Texas he moved to Gilroy as a young boy in 1945. A Teamster Union member of Local 679 and worked for Gilroy Cannery for 45 years until retirement. He served three years in the U. S. Army National Guard, as a Tank Gunner.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years Alice V. Padron, son-in law Jimmy H. Talavera, parents Antonio and Ventura S. Padron, sister Amelia S. Padron, brothers Domingo S. Padron, and Larry S. Padron.

He is survived by his daughters Debbie Padron-Talavera, Doreen Padron-Salinas, son- in law Omar Salinas, son Marc Padron, daughter-in law Michele Gonzales. Grandsons Michael Salinas, Ryan Talavera, and Anthony Betancourt. Granddaughter Ariana Padron, great grandsons Michael Salinas Jr, twins Ryan and Nathaniel Talavera and King Betancourt.

Robert enjoyed old cars, motorcycles, gardening, and car shows outings with family. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle with friends, he also considered family. In his younger years he was a member of a few local car clubs, Road Chiefs, Pathfinders, and the Road Gents. In the early 1970's he was a member of the Bar Hoppers Motorcycle Club with his brothers. He built a trophy winning show bike, "Excedrin 74", and showed it in California and Nevada.

His most precious possession in life was his family, and proud of all his family's accomplishments in life. His children will always remember the good times. Strong in faith, a loving, caring, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend . He journeyed through this earth meeting new friends of all ages, with a smile, sense of humor, and a love for telling his history of life. Robert will be truly missed by all that touched his heart, He often said, "Were only passing through in this life, God Bless you, I love you".

Visitation will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home on Friday August 9, 2019, 1pm-9pm.

Vigil will begin at 6 pm, Friday August 9, 2019 at the funeral home.

Funeral will be held on Saturday August 10, 2019 at 10am St Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church, 17400 Peak Ave, Morgan Hill, Ca. Following mass, he will be laid to rest at St Mary's Cemetery, First St, Gilroy CA.
