Robert A. Lawrence loving husband, father and grandfather passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on December 21, 1938 in San Jose, California, to the late Anne and Seraphin Lawrence.  He grew up in a large extended family in San Jose back when the area was still prune orchards. He attended James Lick high school and then went on to Santa Clara University. Robert graduated with a business degree from Santa Clara University in 1960. He was a Certified Public Accountant for over 55 years and owned Lawrence Accountancy Corporation in partnership with his son Jeff.

Robert was married to the love of his life, Mary Lou Lawrence for 57 years. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Lawrence (Kate) and Tom Lawrence (Kim); daughters, Judy Ghera (Jason) and Tricia Lawrence; and grandchildren, Josh, Nick and Lauren Genevro, Marissa Ghera, John, Emily and Megan Lawrence, Cameron, Natalie, Camille and Nina Joublin, and Abby Lawrence.

Robert enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. His best moments were spent attending sporting events and musical performances featuring his grandchildren. He was proud of his Portuguese heritage and was involved in many cultural and charitable events and organizations. His generosity, honesty and kind spirit will be missed by many friends and members of the community. Most of all he has left a huge hole in the hearts of his wife, children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family invites donations in Robert's name to St. Martin of Tours School 300 O'Connor Drive, San Jose, CA. The visitation will be private. Following that, friends and family are welcome to attend the funeral service Friday, February 1, 2019 at 12:00 noon at St. Martin of Tours Church, 200 O'Connor Drive, San Jose, CA followed by entombment at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.  Condolences can be made at www.habingfamily.com
