Our beloved father and friend, Robert J. Day left this world on the evening of January 13, 2022 in Santa Maria, CA, after a sudden illness.

Robert grew up in Morgan Hill, CA where he found his calling in athletics, playing numerous sports at all levels. He married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Zuniga and they raised a son and daughter in Morgan Hill and later Elk Grove, CA. His draw to beautiful open spaces led him to a career as a surveyor and ultimately a Land Agent at PG&E, a position he held for 22 years. He took great pride in sharing his passions with others, whether it was camping throughout California and the neighboring states, rooting on the San Francisco Giants from his View Box seats or meeting his buddies far and wide for rounds of golf.

Robert was a devout Christian who loved Jesus and trusted in him fully. He joins his parents Phyllis and Norman and younger brother Richard in Heaven.

He is survived by two children, Alyssa and Bryan, brother Ronald (Rosalie), sister Kathleen Irby (Edward), former wife and long-time friend Thelma Zuniga, and numerous other loved ones.
A private graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 in Morgan Hill, CA.
