Obituary

Richard Viviano passed away after a brave and courageous battle with cancer on 6-15-12 at his home in Anthem, Arizona with his family at his side.

Richard was born in San Jose, Calif , and resided in Palo Alto, Calif during part of his childhood. His parents moved to Gilroy before his teenage years and he graduated from Gilroy High School and Gavilan College after which he started working for the Dept of Forestry as a fire fighter. He then moved to Southern Calif to make his home and to start a career with the Orange County Fire Dept from which he retired having attained the position of engineer. During his career he pursued body building and won awards at championships. After retiring from the Fire Dept, he and his wife Martha had a very successful drapery and home decorating business.

He is also survived by grand children Domynique , Mateo and Aelani Badillo of Gilroy.

He was predeceased in death by his father Joseph Viviano Sr , beloved aunt Josephine Paradiso in 2010 and most recently his beloved mother Vivian Viviano in Dec 2011.

Richard was a wonderfully kind and Christian man who loved his family dearly and who also loved to help others by putting himself in their shoes and try and help them with a sympathetic spirit. He enjoyed get togethers with all of his family and was very hospitable. Richard was very socialable with everyone he met and he made you feel comfortable. He had a big heart and a great sense of humor. Two years ago he attended a Gilroy high school reunion that spanned many years. He really enjoyed seeing all his classmates and had a great time.

He will always be loved and in our hearts forever. He was still young at 60 years but now is with the Lord enjoying a new life with his new body and that is what gives us comfort, Christ's reassuring hope we will meet again.
