Richard Vernon Patterson, age 70, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2014, with his loving wife and family by his side. He is the loving husband of Linda Patterson and loving father of Tami (John) Rice of Bend, OR, Mike Patterson of Hollister, and Jeff (Jennifer) Patterson of Hollister. He is the step-father of Brian James of Gilroy, and Leighan (John) Perales of Gilroy. He was the wonderful grandpa to Katie, Richard, Emily and Daniel Rice of Bend, OR, Nikki Patterson of Hollister, Aidan, Landen and Camden Patterson of Hollister and John Jr., Ashleigh, and Lauren Perales of Gilroy. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Patterson, his parents Vernon Patterson, and Alberta Bowling, step-father Paul Bowling, and brother-in-law Dick James. He will be missed by his many cousins and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at New Hope Community Church 8886 Muraoka Dr. Gilroy. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the New Hope Compassion Center which helps the less fortunate of Gilroy.
