Richard Gutierrez 71 passed away on September 27, 2019 in Gilroy Ca.
Richard was the youngest of nine siblings. Six sisters and two brothers and is now reunited with his parents, Lupe and Patricia Gutierrez In heaven.
Richard was born in Kerman Ca. And lived most of his life in San Jose. After attending Overfelt High school he was drafted to the Vietnam War, bravely serving from 1967-1969. Upon returning from the war he married his first wife Amy and had a son, Richard Jr.
Richard worked in the grocery business for many years working side by side with his oldest brother Tim at Pink Elephant Markets in San Jose and at El Gallo Colorado (Happy Market) making many friends along the way. He also worked at Big Lots in San Jose before leaving the retail field.
He then moved in with his oldest brother Tim in Morgan Hill where he grew to know his great nieces and nephews.
Richard enjoyed watching all the latest movies and eating his favorite pizza. He was very interested in UFOs, sharing theories with his many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly. He also enjoyed reminiscing about old times at the stores.
Richard enjoyed his visits with Little Richard. They would go to House of Pizza and share a few laughs.
In addition to his siblings he is survived by his son Richard Jr.(Nancy) two granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to remember Richard and share stories at his memorial service. Wednesday October 9 At 11am, Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy.
