Richard M. Garcia passed away October 23, 2011 surrounded by his family at the age of 72. Loving father of Gloria (Albert) Perez, Suzie (Fidel) Guevara and Leonard (Alice) Garcia. Beloved Grandfather of Andrew, Leandra and Adam Garcia, Anthony, Albert James, and Raymond Perez, Sophia (Makel) AIi, and Great Grandfather to Sophia Denise Perez. Dearest brother of Phil (Rosemarie) Garcia, Tony Garcia, Joe (Frances) Garcia, Connie (Manuel) Limones, and brother -in-law of Clara Garcia. Dear Uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Born in Crystal City Texas, Richard came to Gilroy in 1945. He worked for Gentry/Gilroy Foods for more than 40 years.
Richard enjoyed social outings and was currently serving as president of the resident council at Wheeler Manor. His most favorite moments were those spent with his grandchildren and family.
Preceded in death by his parents Gregorio (Carmen) and Maria Garcia, sisters Petra Galtman, Oralia Azcona, Martha Martinez, Jane Lopez, Annie Samano, Dolores Castro, brothers Trini Garcia, Baby John Garcia and Coach Big John Garcia.
Funeral service will be held 10 am Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Habing Family Funeral Home.
