Reiny was born March 1, 1939, in Prenzlau, Germany, the son of Alfred and Gertrud (Schumann) Brunn.  During his childhood he grew up in various cities in East Germany.  He completed a two year landscaping apprenticeship in Hamburg, Germany by the age of 19.

He came to the United States in 1959.  Once he arrived in the States, he worked for Watson Landscape Contractors followed by A.J. Shooter Landscape Contractors.  In 1973, he became self employed with his brother, George, and opened B & B Landscape Contractors, Inc.  For the next 38 years, B & B helped develop and landscaped the Bay Area and surrounding areas.

On August 14, 1965, he married Renate (Pryskalla) Brunn in Sacramento, CA.  They have resided in many cities throughout the Bay Area until 2011 when he retired and moved to Gilroy, CA.

Reiny enjoyed playing and watching soccer. He played soccer in the 1960s and 1970s with the Harmony Soccer Club in Palo Alto and has been a San Jose Earthquakes fan since the 1970s.  He enjoyed deep sea fishing and took many trips to Baja, Mexico and especially enjoyed La Paz, Mexico.  He also enjoyed boating and being around water.  He loved being surrounded by his friends and family.

Reiny died January 15, 2017 at the Gilroy Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.  He was 77.  He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Renate; devoted children:  JoAnn (Terry) Steele of San Jose, and Joyce Brunn of Henderson, NV; grandchildren: Shaun Steele of San Jose, Kelsea Steele of San Jose.  He is also survived by, brother, George (Silvia) Brunn of Las Vegas, NV.  Reiny's generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Brunn, his mother Gertrud Brunn, and his brother Arnold Brunn.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 11:30 a.m.  at Darling & Fischer Garden Chapel , 471 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA 95112.  Immediately following the service will be a Celebration of Life at Teske's Germania, 255 N. 1 ^st Street, San Jose, CA 95110.   In lieu of flowers please send donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the SPCA, in honor of his love of children and animals.
