Regina Read

Regina Read passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1947, Regina entered the world with a spirit that reflected the warmth and love of the day she was born. She was the first of two children born to Joseph and Elisa Martinez, who preceded her in death.

Regina’s life was marked by grace, leadership, and a lifelong commitment to caring for others. She dedicated over 50 years of her professional life to working in the medical field.

As a young woman, Regina was a Miss Gilroy pageant winner. Her dedication to the program continued for many years.

Family was at the center of Regina’s world. She was a devoted and loving aunt who took great joy in the lives of her nieces and nephews, always offering encouragement, laughter, and unwavering support. Her presence was steady and comforting, and her love left a lasting imprint on generations of her family.

Regina is survived by her beloved sister, Marta; brother-in-law Ruben; her nephews and niece, Ruben, Robert, Jacob, and Christine; and her cherished great-nephews and great-nieces, Jax, Militia, Ace, King, Dice, Reville, Allison, and Liam Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, strength, and family devotion.

Regina will be remembered for a life well-lived one defined by service, generosity, community leadership, and deep love for her family. Though she is deeply missed, her memory remains a blessing and her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
