Simoni Moretti
October 17, 1948 – June 27, 2022
Reenel T. Simoni Moretti passed to Heaven on June 27, 2022. Reenel attended Notre Dame High School in San Jose and the University of Santa Clara where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Teaching Credential. Raised on a ranch she learned to work tirelessly. If help was needed, she worked with the men. She married Albino Moretti and moved to Gilroy. Due to a lack of teaching positions she went to work in the banking industry. She spent her career as a teller, new account representative, loan officer and operations office. Her community outreach was stellar. She was known for personal, friendly, efficient service. She received commendations from California Retired Teacher'a Association, Gabilan Amateur Radio Club, The Office of the Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools, and Spectrum education. She explained a banking career to ROP students, served on the advisory committee of the Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools and participated in Service to Education days. She maintained the accounts, paid the bills and provided an accurate record of account for the First Annual Garlic Festival. She supported the March of Dimes and The Disabled American Veterans. She was an integral part of helping Albino Moretti and Winn Robinson grow the land moving business now called Robinson & Moretti from one tractor to numerous caterpillar tractors, motor graders, scraper carryalls,and trucks . She orchestrated dinner party after dinner party to make new contacts for the business. She loved to embroider and sew. Her crafts work won a second placed award at Gilroy Parks and Recreation's Christmas Arts and Crafts faire. She made her own curtains for her home. Albino and Reenel eventually built there own home on a piece of land given them by Reenel's father. She and Albino designed the home themselves and worked tirelessly to build the house. They hammered framing and siding in place, built and sanded cabinets, hired any trades they needed. They had no children and later decided to go their separate ways. Reenel is survived by her brother James V. Simoni, her aunt Lorraine Millang and cousins Steve Millang, Paul Grisante, Marilyn Laurence, Joy Grisante, Rosemary Grisante, and Richard Grisante, Liana Ghilarducci, Joe Simoni, Mark and Linda Ghilarducci, Dennis Ghilarducci and Steven & Sandy Ghilarducci.
Vigl Monday, July 18, 2022 - 6 PM at Habing Family Funeral Home. Funeral Mass Tuesday, July 19, 2022 -10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, Gilroy. Burial will be private.
