Rachel Hernandez Reyes, of Gilroy, California, went to meet meet her maker on Saturday, October 16,2010. Her final resting place was Hollister, California, at Hazel Hawkins Hospital, from natural causes.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 28, 1922 to Gregorio and Josefina Hernandez.
She is survived by her children Donciano & Lupita Reyes, Dionicio & Linda Reyes , Gregorio Reyes, Stephany & Samuel Hernandez, Rosita Morales, Rocky & Irene Reyes, Mary & Manuel Jr. Salinas, Ruben Reyes & Cathy Barbosa. Also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren Samantha Reyes, Sandra Reyes, Leticia Ferreira, Christina Davis, Salma Reyes, Roberto Reyes, Christopher Hernandez, Eric Hernandez, Jonathan Hernandez, Natalio Reyes, Nikolas Reyes, Vittorio Reyes, Paul Zapata, Steven Zapata, Sammy Jean Hernandez, Nathaniel Hernandez, Stephanie Beltran, Rocky J. Reyes, Donald Reyes, Michael J. Reyes, Joseph Romo, Larissa Romo, Verionica Salinas, Senaida Salinas, Cindy Maritn and Mike Barbosa. Taryn, Summer, Shelia, Elijah, Raquel, Matthew, Vittorio Jr., Alex, Adrian, Breanna, Danny, Sohelia, Jessica, Naomi, Rachel, Loki, Isaac, Mia, Evangeline, Jerimya, Meriaha, Laura, Elisha, Briana, Julian, Grace, Ryan, Anjelica, Mikey, Matthew, Jaycee, and Rachel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Doniciano T. Reyes, her beautiful daughter Rachel Reyes and her parents.
Rachel enjoyed the simple things in life, gardening, attending church, raising her family and cooking. That was her specailty, cooking is what brought her family together, long visits at her house on Burke Drive. She was always available to minister to someone and lend a helping hand. She never lost her tenacity, spirit or faith. She will be missed by all her loved ones.

Evening Service Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services Wednesday, October 20, 2010 10:00 A.M. both at Habing Family Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park, 1000 First Street, Gilroy, CA 95020
