Phillip A. Muniz passed away suddenly on February 6, 2013 after a short illness. He was born in Fresno and raised in Gilroy prior to moving to Modesto.
He is survived by his devoted father Raul Muniz, Sr.; dear brother of Mary (Bob), Ruben, Sr., Alfred (Jamie), Abel, and Roy, Sr.; loving uncle to Stacie (Danny), Henry, Jr., Melanie (Benny, Sr.), Amber (Daniel), Corina, Monique, Ruben, Jr., Veronica, Marissa, Roy, Jr., Angel, Alexis , Alfonso, and Jasmine; cherished grandfather of Natalie and Yasmin Urenda; loving nephew of Luz Martinez; as well as many other family members.
Phillip was preceded in death by his mother Josefina Corina Muniz and brother Raul Muniz, Jr.
Phillip was a very loving man, had a great sense of humor and made everyone enjoy his company.
He was a big sports fan, especially cheering for the Oakland A's, played the drums in his father's Tex Mex band, he was a heavy equipment truck driver for many years in the Bay Area and a talented mechanic and bike builder.
Memorial Mass 11:00 am Friday, April 8 at St. Mary Church followed by a graveside service at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
