With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phillip "Phil" Casalegno, who left this world on March 27, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 2, 1945, in Calistoga, CA, Phil was the third of four children. He was raised in San Francisco, proudly served in Vietnam, and eventually settled in Gilroy, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and countless adventures with loved ones.

Phil was a man of action—always the first to "get in and get it done." He lived by the motto's family first and actions speak louder than words, leading by example and inspiring those around him to do the same. With a rare ability to bring out the best in others, he instilled confidence and encouragement in everyone he met.

An avid outdoorsman, Phil found joy in water sports, camping, and exploring nature. Whether boating, venturing into the wilderness, or simply savoring quality time with family and friends, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his incredible talent for building and troubleshooting anything—electrical, mechanical, or construction-related. If something needed fixing, Phil was the one to call.

Above all, Phil cherished his family. His presence was a source of strength, wisdom, and warmth, and his infectious laughter could brighten any room. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Pam, his spoiled dog Addie; his children and their spouses, Bryan & Allyson, Nichole & James, Tony & Renee, and Steven & Tami; as well as his 10 grandchildren: Gavin, Ashlyn, Logan, Layla, Lexie, Wesley, Vincent, Nico, Aiden and Chase.

A celebration of Phil's life will be held on April 4th at 9:30 AM at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy, CA, where we will gather to honor his memory and share the countless stories that made him so special.

Phil's legacy of love, determination, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
