It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Philip, "Swede", Trifilo in Gilroy, California on July 11, 2024 at the age of 91. He was born on December 11, 1932 in Morgan Hill to Carmen and Martina Trifilo. Philip graduated from Live Oak High School and then joined the Army and served our country for 4 years.
After completing his time in the service, he met his future wife, Mabel Poulin, and they were married on January 15, 1956. He is survived by his wife Mabel, older brother James Trifilo, and his two children, Carol (Richard) Furtado and Stephen (Julia) Trifilo. They were graced with four grandchildren: Dale (Amy) Rivas, Richard (Lauren) Furtado, Justin (Nicole) Trifilo and Amber (Jorge) Landeros; one adopted grandchild: Ivan Vinson; and eight great grandchildren: Abigail and Claire Rivas, Debra and Anthony Furtado, Scott and Keira Trifilo, Camila and Elena Landeros.
Philip started his career as a machinist apprentice at Be Ge in Gilroy and worked his way up to tool and die maker at McCormick Selph in Hollister and ended up retiring from the same position at IBM in San Jose.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Martina Trifilo and his younger brother Eugene Trifilo.
Memorial services will be held at Habing Family Funeral Home in Gilroy on November 26th at 11 am followed by his ashes being put to rest at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
