A life well lived.  Phil was an architect, skier, backpacker, and a lover of music, good wine and food.

His family was paramount in his life – a loving husband to Shirley, a caring father to Lisa, Bart and Michele and an inspirational grandfather to Nolan, Brigitte, Carla and Pixie.  He was a treasured friend who embraced you as family. It was important to him that he pass on his legacy not only to his immediate family but also to his cherished nephews, Michael, David and Marc Mantelli and their families.

Phil grew up in Truckee, California and graduated from Truckee High School. He served in Korea as an Army MP.  After his return, he graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Architecture.  He practiced in California, Hawaii, Nevada and Alaska.  After retiring to Carmel, he became a world traveler whose adventures were memorialized in his sketch books.

He will be missed by all who knew him.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 27th at 11am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Carmel Valley, California.
