Obituary

Peggy Pauline Hill went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 16, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her husband LTC William P. Hill, April 11, 1985 and her brothers Jack Brittain of Beaumont, Texas and Donald Brittain of Huber Heights, Ohio. She is survived by her brother Dwayne Brittain of Duncan, Oklahoma, daughter and "favorite" son-in-law, Suzanne and Carlos Lopez; grandsons William and Christopher Hill; great granddaughters Skyler Rae Pare, Lorna Kay Hill, and Kailey Marie Hill.

She was born in 1931 in Ames, Oklahoma. She lived in Oklahoma until she met and married her husband Nov. 8, 1957 at Ft. Sill, OK. They
traveled across the US and South America via his US Army career.
Peggy was an avid bowler since her youth and participated in many state and national tournaments. She bowled at Gilroy bowl for 30 plus years.

Her family settled in Gilroy in 1976. In 1978 she began working for Dr. James D. Neilson Optometrist for 13 years then for Dr. Patel, Dr. Brown and Dr. Kovach (Visual Edge) for 16 years until retirement in September 2007.

She volunteered over the years with the Army Community Services at the different Forts welcoming new families and familiarizing them with their new community. She was involved with Parent Teacher Association for 15 years. She volunteered at her church, South Valley Community. She mentored and loved hundreds of people over the years here in Gilroy.

Celebration of Life service is Saturday, Aug. 22, 10:30 am at South Valley Community Church, 8095 Kelton Drive, Gilroy, reception to follow.
