It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Peggy Joyce Burch, loving mother and friend of many.
She passed away peacefully at home on Jan 24, 2015, surrounded by her family.
Peggy was born to Harold and La Vaun Sloan on December 30, 1930 in Fulton Kentucky. She is preceded in death by husband Donald Burch, younger brother James Sloan and sister Sandra Tykol. She is survived by her sister Hettie as well as many nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Burlingame HS in 1948 She worked for Pacific Bell before starting a family and was an active volunteer for the El Camino Hospital Auxiliary.
Peggy received her AA from De Anza College in Social Services, worked for Santa Clara County Family Services for many years and owned UPMS, a Sunnyvale postal service business for nearly 20 years. She befriended many of her customers who remained in contact with her long after she retired.
Peggy lives on thru her children,Joene(Barry), Dan, Debi, Peter(Stacy), Mark(Beth) GC Kristi(Dave), Patricia, Evan, Jamie, Jaunie, Erik(Keri) & Amanda(Corey) Alisha(Jason) & Danielle(Evan) GGC Lily, Jack, Roma, Dillon, Braden, Ryleigh, Kinleigh, Keira, Kaia, Brycen, Trent, Cori, Rayce And by her extended family David Barreras, and Sam and David Burch Peggy was an orchid enthusiast, loved to fish, go to the horse races, and found great enjoyment in collecting discarded treasures, particularly those of Asian origin. She will continue to be loved by all those that she has touched throughout her life.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her name to El Camino Hospital Auxiliary, Wounded Warriors Project or a charity of choice.
