J.R. as we lovingly called him was born and raised in Gilroy, CA.  He passed at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.  He graduated from Gilroy High School where he excelled in football and wrestling, He also loved bowling, playing the drums, listening to music and sitting on the porch talking and reminiscing with friends and family.

J.R. also studied in the Philippines for electrical engineering.  He moved to Maine before settling in San Jose, CA.  He was loved by many and will sadly missed.

He was survived by children Brianna Casas and Victor Casas, his mother Maria Cisneros, his siblings Maria Gallagher, Celia Limones, Elizabeth Gois, Amanda Hampel, Diana Barajas, Ricky Casas and many nieces and nephews and his wife, Rhochelle Casas. He was also survived by his half siblings Jesus Casas, Gracie Casas and Gustavo Casas.

He was preceded in death by his son Aric Casas, father Ovidio Casas Sr.,  grandparents Manuel and Angelita Gonzales his Uncle Fidel and Aunt Josefina Gonzales and niece Jacklyn Limones.

Services will be held August 4, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Inurnment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Gilroy.

Celebration of life will follow at Christmas Hill Park, Gilroy.
