Oralia Lopez, 77, passed away on July 22, 2022, after a brief bout with cancer.  She was born September 26, 1944, to Casimiro & Gregoria Garza, in Laredo, TX.

It is in Laredo that she met her husband Dagoberto Lopez, who was the grandson of her neighbor. They married in 1964 and made Gilroy their permanent and forever home. She started seasonal work at Gentry's in 1965 and moved over to Gilroy Foods when it was acquired.  She worked a total of 47 years until finally retiring in 2012.

Oralia lived in Gilroy and was a loving mother to son Luis Lopez, daughter Norma Lopez and her only grandchild Lauren Lopez, who was the center of her universe. She enjoyed being retired and spending her time at home helping to raise her granddaughter and she loved to host parties.

Oralia is survived by her children and grandchild, as well as her sisters Maria Martinez of Sacramento, CA, Margarita Munoz of Alice, TX, Ofelia Elizalde (Francisco) of Fort Collins, CO and Hortencia Gonzalez of Stockton, CA as well as many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her brother Casimiro Garza Jr.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 4 ^th from 6 – 9pm at Habing Family Funeral Home and Mass at 10am on Friday August 5th at St. Mary's Church with burial right after at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park.
