Obituary

Nicholas Howard Young (74), passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021. Born at the original O'Conner hospital in San Jose, CA to Joseph & Elizabeth Young.

During Nicholas' young years, he loved hunting, fishing, and camping in Northern California with his dad and uncle Bill. Nicholas had always held a job since he was a young boy, he began delivering newspapers on his bicycle and enjoyed raising animals in the FFA. At the age of 16, he began cowboying on the Lucky Hereford Ranch in Gilroy, CA where he groomed the livestock for the cattle sales. At the age of 18, he was drafted into the Army where he served his tour of duty to Vietnam until 1968. Nicholas and former Karen J Kornovich got married in 1969.

Nicholas studied carpentry at Gavilan College to received his certification to become a carpenter. In 1970, Nicholas and Karen had their son Mark A Young. Nicholas became a member of the American Legion, Elks Lodge, ECV, and he was a lifetime member of the VFW. In 1976, Nicholas and Karen had their daughter Kimberly J Young. Nicholas enjoyed taking his boys camping and showing them how to hunt and fish. He worked as a carpenter until his retirement.

After retirement, his hobbies included raising his own cattle, going to the Reno NV gun-shows, fishing at Pyramid Lake through the Fitzgerald's Casino with his wife Karen, and watching cartoons with his grandchildren.

Nicholas is survived by his wife of 52 years; Karen J Young, his children; Thomas A Kornovich, Mark A Young, and the late Kimberly J Lucas. Grandchildren; Chandonet M Ramirez, Thomas D Kornovich: Air-Force, Cody M Lucas, and Harold M Ciccotti. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends, young and old. He asked that his services be held private by his immediate family members
