Nancy Ruth Scarcella was born September 4, 1938 in Houston Texas and passed October 9, 2023.

Nancy grew up in Texas with her sisters Holly and Francis, and worked for the city of Beaumont. This is where she learned many of the qualities and values we all admired her for. She moved to California in 1961, where she met the love of her life James Scarcella. They were married in November of 1962, and afterwards moved to Girloy where they began building their life and family together. Nancy was a wonderful mother to her three children, Michael Scarcella (Angela), Matthew Scarcella (Melissa) and Angie Bay (Ryan).

Nancy was a caring, charismatic, hard-working and an avid sports fan. She contributed all of these inspiring qualities to her community for years, including Saint Mary's Church and Sakata Seed. She helped contribute to the foundation and creation of the Quarterbacks Club at Gilroy High School, cheered on her San Jose Sharks, and had a passion and love for football. Nancy's proudest and happiest moments though were those as a Grandmother to Shea Lemos, Brittany Scarcella, Josephine Scarcella, Jonathan Scarcella, Ryan Scarcella, Ty Phillips, and Sophia Scarcella as well as Great-Grandmother of Shane Lemos and Laney Lemos.

Nancy was preceded in death by her sister Holly Warren and husband James Scarcella. She is survived by her sister Frances Matthews, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held at Habing Funeral Home on October 26, 2023 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization Nancy felt strongly about.
